Whether on your own, in a pair or in a small group – here you learn in the way that fits your life. Our music teachers meet every student at their own level, from the curious pre-schooler to the returning adult. The joy of sound is at the heart of it from the very beginning – and over time, playing music together grows quite naturally out of it.
Weekly lessons for all ages, one-to-one or in small groups – also as a flexible lesson package. That way every student gets exactly the pace that fits right now – from a focused one-to-one lesson to learning together in a small group.
A playful start for the youngest: rhythm, voice and movement in a group. Here even the little ones discover with delight how notes feel and how much fun music is in a community – entirely without pressure to perform.
Making music together – the moment when practice turns into real music. Listening to one another, finding the entry together, letting yourself be carried by the sound of the others: playing together grows not only your skill, but also the joy of being part of something.
Start fresh or pick it up again: your own rate, your own pace, possible at any time. It is never too late for an instrument – whether a long-held wish or a return to an old passion, you decide the goal and the way there yourself.
Primary-school-age children get to know the instruments of pop music – drums, percussion, keyboard, electric guitar and electric bass. No prior knowledge needed, simply try things out and discover what is fun. This way the children calmly find out which instrument truly excites them before they decide on one.

From keyboard and string instruments through plucked and electric instruments to woodwinds and percussion, our range is wide – plus ensemble playing and first musical steps for the youngest. So there is a fitting subject for every age and every temperament: one child looks for the clear melody of the violin, another for the driving groove of the drums. Whether your child is picking up an instrument for the first time or you would like to start again yourself – we advise you on the choice and accompany you from the first note to playing together.
Behind the music school stands the non-profit association “Für eine Musikschule in Cuxhaven” (For a music school in Cuxhaven) – since 2005. It makes sure that, even in times of tight public budgets, Cuxhaven continues to have a public, non-profit music school. Parents, students and supporters help shape it as members. Even a supporting membership helps to secure this offer for the long term – and makes you part of Cuxhaven's music community.
